Fans continue to associate Sourabh Raaj Jain with his role as Shree Krishna in TV show Mahabharat, something which is called as a “blessing.”

Sourabh Raaj Jain, who rose to fame with his powerful portrayal of Lord Krishna in TV show Mahabharat, is now stepping into a very different role in his new show Tu Dhadkan Main Dil. But even as he experiments with fresh characters, there is one dream role he hopes to bring to life on screen someday.

In a recent conversation with The Times of India, the actor shared his long-standing wish to portray Rabindranath Tagore. “I have said this a couple of times, I wish one day I get to play Rabindranath Tagore. I think he was an embodiment of creativity, plus he had a good height, so that would be an added benefit for me,” Sourabh said.

Sourabh Raaj Jain Shot To Fame As Krishna

Even though it has been years since Mahabharat aired, fans continue to associate Sourabh with his role as Shree Krishna, something which is called a “blessing.” “Being remembered as Krishna is something I will always cherish. But I also feel grateful that audiences have allowed me to evolve,” he said.

“There’s a kind of emotional and spiritual connection that comes with playing Krishna, and that doesn’t fade with time. When people still greet me with folded hands or call me ‘Krishna ji,’ it reminds me of the impact a role can have beyond the screen. It’s a gift, and I carry it with gratitude,” he added.

Exploring A New Side in Tu Dhadkan Main Dil

Sourabh’s latest role in Tu Dhadkan Main Dil is a major shift from his earlier work. He plays Raghav, a rockstar dealing with emotional struggles. “With every new character, I try to bring a different shade of myself. It’s not about undoing the past; it’s about expanding the canvas. I hope Raghav will connect with viewers in a completely different, more human way,” he said.

In an earlier interview, Sourabh spoke about what drew him to the character of Raghav. He said he’s always been interested in roles that challenge him emotionally. What stood out to him about Raghav’s journey was the emotional distance between a father and daughter and how that gap slowly begins to close.

Sourabh felt the story wasn’t just dramatic but had genuine depth. “Tu Dhadkan Main Dil is not your typical television drama. It’s subtle, emotionally textured, and deeply human,” he added.

Tu Dhadkan Main Dil premiered on June 23 and airs every day at 7 PM on Star Plus.
