Sonakshi Sinha has been very active on YouTube, often sharing glimpses of her life. She recently decided to give us an unfiltered peek into her beauty essentials. “Main teen bahut hi important kits ke saath travel karti hoon,” she says. Her bridal guest survival kit includes makeup, hair, and skincare, and each one comes with its own set of favourites, quirks, and efficient picks.
As Sonakshi says, “Meri first kit hai meri very important makeup kit, which obviously I need to get ready with!” She kicks things off with her tried-and-tested favourites. “Makeup removing wipes. Very very essential!” And of course, “Indian outfits hain, bindi toh zaroori hai!” Her bag holds a maroon, red, and even a blue bindi to go with whatever her outfit vibe turns out to be.
She reveals she’s a last-minute decision-maker when it comes to makeup. “Main kapde pehen leti hoon, then decide karti hoon makeup kya karna hai,” she laughs. That explains the stash of eyeshadow palettes: “I carry quite a few, because bante-bante kuch ban jaata hai.”
Among the goodies are two concealers, one by Natasha Moor and the other by Kylie Cosmetics. “Kabhi dono mix karti hoon, kabhi ek hi use karti hoon, depending on mood actually!” Her foundation kit is also diverse. “Tinted sunscreen bhi rakhti hoon, thoda halka sa tint hai, not that much coverage, but for everyday wear it’s great.”
Sonakshi makes one thing clear: Lipstick kabhi kam nahi padni chahiye! A philosophy inspired by Zaheer, she says. Her collection has everything from nudes to reds and maroons. “Can’t hurt carrying extra. Kam nahi home chahiye, this is something I’ve learnt from Zaheer!”
There are makeup samples tucked away, too, free Sephora minis that come in handy while travelling. One of her favourites? Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro whipped cream moisturiser. Another? Her SPF-infused lip balm, which she casually dabs on mid-video: “Ise abhi laga lena chahiye!”
Sonakshi is someone who believes in multi-use products. “Yeh blush-slash-lipstick from Uninterrupted Beauty, I love it!” Her beauty blender, sleek gel for hair flyaways, and under-eye cream from FaceT, it’s all there. She even carries eye tape for the perfect cat-eye finish: “Aaj main yeh use karne wali hoon!”

Just when she’s about to dive into her hair and skincare kits, her husband makes a surprise entrance. “Mera pati aa chuka hai, and he is not going to let me do this in peace!” she laughs, with typical warmth.
