Amazon launches third gen Alexa powered Echo Show 5 smart display in India

Amazon on Tuesday (July 29, 2025) launched the third generation of Alexa powered Echo Show 5 smart display in India. The new Echo Show 5 third gen comes with upgraded speaker, in-built camera and smart home controls.

The Amazon Echo Show 5 has a 5.5 inch touch display with round edges, and an infinity cover glass. The device runs on AZ2 Neural Edge processor.

Echo Show 5 has an upgraded speaker system with a 1.7 inch rear-facing speaker.

With the built-in camera on Echo Show 5, users can monitor their homes using the ‘Drop In’ feature. They can pair compatible security cameras and video doorbells with their device to view video feeds on the screen. The camera also enables video calls with Echo devices with screens, or the Alexa app. Customers can send messages or connect to other Echo devices within the home for quick announcements.

Echo Show 5 comes with handsfree voice controls via Alexa. Users can ask Alexa to show the calendar, set reminders and more. Controlling compatible smart home devices like smart lights, ACs, fans, security cameras, TVs, and geysers can also be done by asking Alexa or tapping on the device’s screen.

Echo Show 5 3rd gen privacy includes a built-in camera shutter, microphone on/off button, and the ability to view and delete voice recordings in the Alexa app.

Echo Show 5 comes in Charcoal and Cloud Blue colours, available on Amazon, Flipkart and select offline stores of Reliance Digital and Croma at ₹10,999.
