Charlie Kirk’s old post on ‘assassination culture spreading on the left’ has resurfaced after the 31-year-old was shot and killed on Wednesday. Kirk, a Trump ally and founder of Turning Point USA, was attending an event at the Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, when a bullet hit him in the neck. He later succumbed to the injury.
While Trump, who first announced the news of his death on Truth Social, blamed the ‘radical left’ for Kirk’s death, an old post of his has resurfaced, where the right-wing activist notes that ‘assassination culture’ is on the rise with the left.
What Charlie Kirk had said
Kirk in an April post on X (formerly Twitter) remarked “Assassination culture is spreading on the left. Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump.”
Sharing visual data, Kirk had added “In California, activists are naming ballot measures after Luigi Mangione. The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response.”
“This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb,” he concluded.
Kirk’s old post resurfaces
After Kirk was shot, his old post has resurfaced, even as Utah Governor Spencer Cox described his killing as “a political assassination” when speaking to reporters.
One person remarked “Charlie Kirk wrote this about ‘assassınation culture’ on the left.” Another said “Reading this now sends chills. Charlie Kirk saw it coming and warned us. He was right.” Meanwhile, yet another person remarked “Charlie Kirk aptly called it the “Assassination Culture” of the Radical Left!”
Notably, no arrests have been made in Kirk’s killing yet. Authorities detained a suspect, but released them after interrogation, FBI Director Kash Patel shared in an X update.
