The Versova police have registered a case against two men for cheating. Jitendra Sharma and Rakesh Pranigrahi are said to have used hard discs and phones from director Vikram Pravin Bhatt’s office for their own use. The complaint was made by Nasir Khan, the production manager. The case was filed on October 10.Details from the FIRAccording to The Free Press Journal, the FIR states that VSB Production LLP, owned by Bhatt, is located on J.P. Road in Andheri West. Since March 2025, Vikram Bhatt and his wife, Shwetambri, have noticed that several discs were missing from the office. These discs held raw movie footage, which had been improperly used by someone. Bhatt grew suspicious of the account manager, Rakesh Pranigrahi, and asked production manager Khan to keep watch over the matter.Discovery of the Discs with SharmaAfter this, Nasir realized that Jitendra, who reported to Pranigrahi, was holding all the discs. Whenever employees needed a disc for their tasks, Sharma would seek approval from Pranigrahi before distributing it. But over the past two months, Sharma has been making excuses and refusing to share the discs when asked by the staff.Admission of sale of discsOn September 13, executive assistant Mohit Kumar asked Sharma about the discs. Sharma said he sold them to Ashok Krush on Pranigrahi’s orders. Each disc was sold for Rs. 5,000 to 6,000, and half the money went to Pranigrahi. About 10 discs were sold. When Bhatt’s staff asked Sharma to return the discs, he stopped answering calls and coming to work. Later, Pranigrahi also stopped coming to the office and did not return the company’s phones.Charges under Bharatiya Nyaya SanhitaA case has been filed against Pranigrahi and Sharma under Section 316(4) for criminal breach of trust and 3(5), which provides a general explanation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
