The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, popularly known as IRCTC, is the go-to website for booking railway tickets and managing various aspects of rail travel, like catering and tourism. The online ticketing platform for Indian railways was introduced back in 2002 and allows users to bypass the long physical queues at railway stations.
In the last few years, IRCTC has taken drastic measures to prevent ticket agents from booking a large number of tickets, which has in turn made it easier for common people to book their railway tickets online. However, there are times when you are trying to log in to the IRCTC website just to remember that you have forgotten your password. Whether you have forgotten your login details or are unable to access your account, here’s how to quickly reset your IRCTC password.

How to reset IRCTC account password?
1. Head over to the IRCTC website from your favourite browser. On the page that appears, tap on the three-line menu on the top right and click on the ‘Login’ option.
2. Here, you will see an option named “Forgot account details?”. Click on it to open a new page where you need to enter your IRCTC user name or the email ID you registered with.
3. Now, enter the captcha and click on the ‘Next’ button that appears below. Please note that the captcha is case sensitive.
4. Once done, you will get an OTP on your registered phone number or email ID and asked the enter the new password and one more captcha.
5. When you are done filling up all the details, click on the ‘Update Password’ button in the orange box below, and you are good to go.

Now, go back to the IRCTC website home page, and you will be able to log in to the service using your account and updated password.
