Soha Ali Khan recently opened up about her diet preferences, sharing why she loves to stick to foods she is “obsessed” with. “I am not a foodie. If I like something, I obsess about it and become very loyal to it. Even lunch…lauki, tori, tinda (bottlegourd, ridge gourd, and Indian round gourd)…I like the same green vegetables. Yellow dal. I can eat every day,” said Soha, 46.
Adding that her first meal is always a gluten-free toast with avocado and egg, she told Instant Bollywood, “I eat the same breakfast. Some kind of gluten-free toast. There is avocado, and there is a poached egg, which I like; some kind of healthy fats, and protein. There are carbs because I like them. Otherwise, it is not important to have carbs in your breakfast at all. That is my staple breakfast. I am never bored.”
Why are some people never bored with the same type of food?
Choosing a consistent and balanced routine with meals centered around seasonal vegetables, lentils, eggs, and healthy fats is a practical way to support overall wellness. From a scientific perspective, this approach delivers vital nutrients while keeping things simple and easy to maintain in daily life, said consultant dietician and diabetes educator Kanikka Malhotra.

However, to ensure all nutrient needs are met, it’s beneficial to rotate choices within each food group—bringing in different vegetables, pulses, grains, and healthy fat sources according to the season.
According to Malhotra, consistency in eating habits can reduce stress around meal planning and help people listen better to hunger cues.
“Still, for optimal health and to encourage a healthy gut biome, a little diversity—such as adding fruits, whole grains, and other protein sources—can make a good routine even better. The key is to stay mindful of overall variety while enjoying foods that are familiar and make one feel their best,” said Malhotra.
