Nothing on Wednesday (September 17, 2025) officially shared about its new operating skin, the Nothing OS 4.0, which claims to bring more customisation and themes like the extra dark mode.
The London-based technology company said that NOS 4.0 will soon reach Nothing smartphones without sharing the timeline. It will launch the beta program soon with Android 16.
The company said the Nothing OS 4.0 will have a reimagined lock screen clocks and an AI usage dashboard which claims to keep users informed and in control.
In Settings, users can monitor usage trends at a glance, with both daily and weekly views. They can see which LLMs are most active during a given period, and dive deeper into individual model usage.

With the Nothing OS 4.0, the new Pop-up View will support dual pop-up windows, allowing users to use two floating apps simultaneously. Simply swipe up from the bottom edge to quickly minimise a window or pull down to expand it to full screen.
Nothing OS 4.0 will have an upgraded Camera and smarter Gallery with new controls, creative presets, and a more intuitive layout.
It also claims to offer more responsive lock screen and AOD, clearer brightness adjustments, stronger connectivity across Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
