A delightful medley
Handcrafted protein bars, Belgian chocolates in a colourful box, a pack of diamond cookies, oatmeal raisin ones, chocolate biscotti cookies, and a brownie jar loaded with Belgian chocolate brownies dunked in indulgent hot chocolate makes up the Duchess delight, the most-loved festive hamper from Duchess Pastry. A start-up that began as a dream and took form in Coimbatore on August 15, is adding a healthy and creamy twist to festive gifting. Their Deepavali hampers are a medley of cakes, chocolates, granola bars, and nutri bites bundled into a compact pack that feels like a mini version of their pastry collection.

“We started planning our Deepavali hampers back in August,” shares Tharani, the creative mind behind the recipes. “There were numerous discussions with our marketing team and customers. We were meticulous in curating hampers that would be well-received and reflect what Duchess Pastry stands for.”
For Tharani, it’s all about enjoying tasty delights while staying healthy. This gave rise to their granola bars and nutri bites — made with wheat, nuts, and ragi. Among their fast-moving snacks, nutri bites stand out not just for their flavour, but for the care behind them. The proprietor and her chef record the micronutrients of every element, crafting recipes that are diabetic-friendly, lactose-intolerant-friendly, and safe for kids, too. As she states, “We don’t just bake our desserts. We craft them. Each pastry has its own story.”

During the festive season, their granola bars are shaped like ladoos — a sweet nod to our traditional treats. Even the chocolates are wrapped in bright wrappers with images of crackers, and each hamper carries a festive note to help customers feel connected to their roots. It’s a thoughtful blend of health, tradition, and celebration.

While cherry kraken, a 113-gram cookie inspired from Germany’s contribution to the dessert world, the black forest made with maraschino cherries and layers of chocolatey goodness, is a combination of cherries and chocolate, Better Than Love is a decadent take on the epic chocolate chip cookie. It is soft-bellied, has caramel-crisp-edges filled with chocolate and a slight hint of coffee.
There is also The Millionaire made with white chocolate, macadamia and salted caramel. The Floor is Lava is a cookie filled with a molten lava of nutella, milk chocolate chips and roasted hazelnuts. Other delights named Killer Velvet is a coming together of sweet white chocolate and the slight bitterness of cocoa powder and Hawt Curry, an Indian-Mexican duo of spice and dulce de leche.

There is also a set of mini cookies. There is queen pistachio made with intense dark chocolate chunks, roasted pistachios and filled with creamy white chocolate and pistachio creme; Midnight in Paris for triple chocolate lovers.
Krumble stays true to their values by baking in small batches. The cookies come in two sizes — the big, chunky ones at 113 grams and the mini bites at 57 grams.
“I love chocolates,” shares Deepika. “When I did my undergrad and master’s abroad, I had the chance to taste and explore so many kinds of desserts. That’s when I realised there aren’t many pastry places that focus on cookies. Seeing that gap in the market, I knew I wanted to start Krumble.”
When asked whether cookies can truly be a Deepavali gifting option, Deepika responds: “The Deepavali tradition is basically about sharing rich sweets and nuts. Now, staying with the trend, people like to explore a variety of gifting options — and we want to offer them these crunchy delights, filled with nuts and made with quality ingredients.”
“We’re even planning to combine gelato and cookies in the near future, so people can enjoy a fusion-style celebration — something new, yet rooted in the joy of indulgence,” she adds.

At Chocko Choza, Deepavali is all about chocolates. Every year, the team at the resto-cafe, that recently opened a new outlet at Race Course, whips up a range of hampers picking from the best of premium chocolates that they are known for.
This year, according to P Dhivya, the co-founder, they have put their best-sellers and signature products together as The Master Piece. Priced at ₹3650, this hamper includes an eight-piece box of artisan chocolates, nutty biscotti, brownie cubes, almond cookies, a jar of delicate meringues, and an eight-piece New York cheesecake. “We’ve also ensured that hampers are available across various price ranges,“ she explains.
The Signature Box is yet another interesting offering, points out Dhivya. The festive box comprises a pack of eight cupcakes, their signature four-piece couverture truffle, a pack of almond cookies, and crunchy nutty biscotti — a mix of rich and light delights.
